FEEDBACK PLATFORM

Feedback is a web based platform by Ruminate that connects sustainable food producers to expert evaluators for testing their produce by driving innovation, fostering collaboration, and shaping a just, equitable, and environmentally sustainable food system

COMPANY OVERVIEW

Ruminate is a nonprofit innovation hub operating out of Grand Rapids, MI. They provide consulting, testing, and service design services for entities that are contributing to a sustainable food system. Ruminate wants to “drive change by demystifying food system issues” and by making information more accessible to those serving the food system. One way they do this is by helping small ethical, equitable, and environmentally sustainable food producers evaluate their products through data and expert consultation.

CHALLENGE

In today's rapidly changing food industry, small businesses face significant challenges in testing new product ideas without proper structure. This often leads to wasted time and energy. Ruminate recognizes the need for a more streamlined approach and aims to digitize its services to provide customers with an efficient and effective platform for product evaluations. Ruminate seeks to design, test, and code an innovative solution that empowers small food businesses to bring their ideas to life. This new platform promises to revolutionize the way small food businesses test and evolve their product ideas.

SOLUTION

Create a web based feedback platform to connect value-based food producers with evaluators, offering timely, comprehensive, and consistent feedback that empowers small producers to make informed R&D decisions, adapt to market trends, diversify product lines and boost sales

SCOPE OF THIS PROJECT PHASE

The previous phases of the project focused on user research where different personas and requirements for producers, evaluators and admins were created. I was brought onto the project with a goal to have an iterative prototype ready to be shipped for the developers.

Our team’s goal was :

  • To generate user stories from the stakeholder’s requirements.

  • Establish the Feedback sitemap and information architecture.

  • Define best practices for form designs and dashboard designs.

  • Have a scalable design system that lays as a foundation for the project.

  • Create high-fidelity prototypes for the different user flows.

This Project is confidential, with specifics not disclosed here.

CONCLUSION

Navigating Ruminate's UX design challenge was a profound learning experience, where I led a team through a 12-week remote project. Overseeing UX apprentices' onboarding, collaborating with the project management team, and representing design in cross-functional discussions honed my strategic leadership skills. Our innovative solution, a web-based feedback platform, not only streamlined processes but also taught me the importance of user-centered design and the impact of agile frameworks. I discovered the value of effective stakeholder management, aligning design goals with broader project objectives.

Looking ahead, I am eager to apply these insights in future projects, continuing to blend strategic leadership, user-centric design, and collaborative problem-solving to deliver impactful and efficient UX solutions!
